Miley Cyrus Perks Up with Pilates

Maintaining her slender bod, Miley Cyrus was spotted leaving a Pilates class in West Hollywood on Wednesday (February 29).

The "Can't Be Tamed" singer wore a red lace bra under a grey tank with black yoga pants for her midweek workout session.

Recently, the 19-year-old demanded that Twitter be made to enforce special security measures after getting a string of threatening messages on the social networking site.

A troubled Miss Cyrus tweeted, "I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die. I think Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment!"

Meanwhile, there's been no response to Miley's concerns thus far,

Beyonce May Star In Ryan Murphy Flick 'One Hit Wonders'

Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz and Andy Samberg have also been attached to musical comedy.

<P>As <a href="">Beyonc&#233;</a> settles into the role of <a href="/news/articles/1677997/beyonce-motherhood-business.jhtml">motherhood</a>, she's attached to another role &#8212; this one for the big screen. The pop singer is reportedly in talks to join Ryan Murphy's latest flick. Billed as "One Hit Wonders," the film would be a musical comedy that could potentially star B's pal Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz and "Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg. The film would follow Paltrow, Witherspoon and Diaz as pop stars who hit it big in the '90s as &#8212; you guessed it &#8212; one-hit wonders. In order to gain back some of the pop-star recognition they once had, the ladies join forces and form a supergroup. Samberg and his Lonely Island team would be involved in coming up with the movie's songs. Beyonc&#233;'s role is still unknown. The "Glee" creator would direct and co-write the screenplay with his frequent collaborators, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. He's expected to begin work on it after his big-screen adaptation of the play "The Normal Heart." <a href="" target="_blank">Deadline</a> reports that the film's idea came after Paltrow, Witherspoon and Diaz dined with Murphy at New York hotspot Soho House and they all wanted to work on a fun project together. The pitch to Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal was reportedly scooped up in 10 minutes. Deals are currently being worked out. MTV News' email to Murphy's rep had not been returned by press time. Regardless of how this film shakes out, Beyonc&#233; is reportedly already thinking about her music career again. Producer Ryan Tedder shared that the singer is prepping several <a href="">follow-up albums</a> to <a href="/news/articles/1665479/beyonce-4-leak.jhtml">2011's <i>4.</i></a> "The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening. All I can say is, you kind of feed her the best that you have, and she's this phenomenal filter and she takes it all in." One of those albums may be the soundtrack for the upcoming Clint Eastwood film "A Star Is Born," which the singer is also attached to star in. <b>For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more &#8212; updated around the clock &#8212; visit <a href=""></a>.</b></p>

Jennifer Lopez's Stylist Explains Oscars Wardrobe Malfunction

'There's no chance that there were any ... slips,' Mariel Haenn tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

Jennifer Lopez is experienced when it comes to looking sexy at an awards show. Who could forget that low-cut, emerald-green Versace dress she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000?

The actress/ singer/ "American Idol" judge recalled that infamous look on Sunday night when Lopez hit the stage as a presenter at the Oscars and left some fans and viewers wondering whether an unintended part of Lopez's anatomy had slipped out from her dress.

Well, her stylist, Mariel Haenn, tells MTV News in a statement that what you actually saw was a lot of nothing. "The Oscar dress was custom-made for Jennifer by designer Zuhair Murad. The dress fit perfectly to her every inch," Haenn explained. "There were cups built in and there's no chance that there were any how do you say? 'Slips.' While the dress did give the illusion of sheerness, jokes on everyone who wishes they saw something!"

The sparkling gown dazzled on the stage when Lopez stood alongside her "What to Expect When You're Expecting" co-star, the Gucci-clad Cameron Diaz; the two were presenting the Oscar for Best Costume Design and Best Makeup. Regardless of whether anything did end up slipping out, Haeenn promises that if you liked Sunday's costume design for Ms. Lopez, then stay tuned: She's got more sexiness up her sleeve. Haenn said, "If you thought that dress was hot wait until you see what's next."

The possible nip-slip moment was so hotly debated on Twitter by celebrities and fans that Lopez's body part even got its own Twitter account. And as you might imagine, the handle is not subtle, simply going by JLos Nipple. The Twitter account seems to have a sense of humor, with jokes like, "I have no regrets. ... I have been confined for years and have never been given a chance to be heard. #nipslips." Another tweet reads, "For people that don't have HD ... I understand why you aren't following me. For everyone else ... you're welcome."

Ryan Seacrest, Diddy, More Tweet About The Oscars

'My mom always told me to pack two jackets for red carpets,' Seacrest writes after Sacha Baron Cohen spills 'ash' on him.

During Sunday night's (February 26) Oscars, celebrities took to Twitter to react to the wins (both their own and those of their colleagues), the looks, the show itself, and, of course, that Dictator stunt pulled on Ryan Seacrest.

"My mom always told me to pack two jackets for red carpets," Seacrest joked about being plastered with "ashes" on the red carpet by Sacha Baron Cohen, who was done up in his Dictator character. "Always wondered why. Now I know." His lady love, Julianne Hough, also laughed off the incident, adding, "Awe! @RyanSeacrest It's ok, we'll just make pancakes with the leftovers! #goodcomposure ;)"

Diddy managed to snag some Oscar gold as the executive producer of the Best Documentary winner, "Undefeated." "God is the greatest!!!!" he wrote. "Thank you! #undefeated!!!!" He later added, "I am buggin." He got some love from a number of folks, including Ellen DeGeneres, who wrote, "@iamdiddy did it! Congratulations on Best Documentary!"

One of the big topics of the night was Octavia Spencer, who won for her supporting role in "The Help." Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson wrote, "Yes!!!! Welcome to the family Octavia !! Congrats!!! Amazing!!"

"Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder also had love for Spencer, writing, "Congratulations Octavia!!!!!! You deserve this- you're amazing. Enjoy it, it's your night Xo Ian."

Despite not taking home an Oscar for "My Week With Marilyn," Michelle Williams seems to have made a friend in Perez Hilton, who wrote, "There is something so delicate and precious about Michelle Williams! I just wanna be her friend and give her lots of hugs! #Oscars."

Hough was back on Twitter at the show's end to send love to Meryl Streep, who did take home an Oscar for her lead role in "The Iron Woman." "Meryl makes it possible to be the best at what you do yet still keep your values family and friendships first," she said. "That's what makes Meryl, Meryl."

While the show is all about that little statue that gets held out to the winners, Kim Kardashian weighed in one some of the night's looks. "Wow Angelina went fun & sexy!!!! LOVE," she wrote. "OMG Gwenyth Paltrow looks soooo chic! WOW. Wow JLO looks amazing!!! Emma Stone looks beautiful! The glam on the red carpet is heating up!"

Oscars 2012: All-Time Most Controversial Winners

From 'Shakespeare in Love' to 'Crash,' a look back at the Academy Awards' most memorable upsets.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Not every Academy Awards winner is met with praise and cinematic glory. Some past winners have come as surprises and even major disappointments to the audience, and among these, a handful will go down in history as outright injustices.

Though a surprise victory on Oscar night can be thrilling, it can also deeply upset the viewers at home who've picked their favorites. As we gear up for the 2012 Oscars, here's a look back at some of the most controversial wins in Academy Awards history.

"How Green Was My Valley" Upsets "Citizen Kane" (Best Picture)
Even though "Citizen Kane" has been touted as the greatest American movie of all time by the American Film Institute, back in 1942, it couldn't even win the Academy Award as the year's Best Picture. John Ford's tale of a family struggling to make ends meet in a Welsh mining town beat Orson Welles' masterpiece to take the honors and become the foremost example of Oscar injustice.

"Ordinary People" Upsets "Raging Bull" (Best Picture)
It upsets people when the film they feel is the best of year doesn't win the top prize on Oscar night, but when the supposed film of the decade doesn't win in its respective year, that's a thing of controversy. Martin Scorsese's gem about troubled boxer Jake LaMotta earned Robert De Niro an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1981, but Robert Redford's family drama took the top honor. "Ordinary People" has since gone down in history as the film that stole the Oscar from the best movie of the 1980s.

Marisa Tomei Wins for "My Cousin Vinny" (Best Supporting Actress)
One of the most famous Oscar controversies in recent years came at the 1993 ceremony, when Jack Palance presented the award for Best Supporting Actress to Marisa Tomei. Many theorized Palance had misread the card, mistakenly giving the Oscar to Tomei. In the years since, the actress has gone on to earn two additional Academy Awards nominations.

"Shakespeare in Love" Upsets "Saving Private Ryan" (Best Picture)
The film that ushered in the era of Miramax domination in the awards scene, "Shakespeare in Love," stole away Oscar glory from the one pegged as the odds-on favorite. Steven Spielberg's sprawling World War II epic was heavily favored heading into the 1999 Academy Awards, and even though Spielberg took home the award for directing, many still hold onto the disappointment from the top category.

"Crash" Upsets "Brokeback Mountain" (Best Picture)
One of the best examples of the power of Best Picture backlash, the 2006 Academy Awards saw the tides turn away from Ang Lee's tragic love story "Brokeback Mountain" and toward Paul Haggis' "Crash" in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. If you need to better understand the shock that occurred, go back and watch Jack Nicholson announce "Crash" as the winner, throw his hands up and say, "Wow."

Shailene Woodley Says Oscars 'Grand Finale' For 'Descendants' Cast

Independent Spirit Award-winner tells MTV News ending awards season with her co-stars is 'so bittersweet.'
By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

"The Descendants" took home a handful of awards from the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday afternoon, but none of the winners were more enthused about the honor than first-time nominee Shailene Woodley. The "Secret Life of the American Teenager" star has been rewarded repeatedly for her emotional turn as the teenage daughter of George Clooney's character in the Alexander Payne-directed flick, and the 20-year-old continued that trend Saturday, winning Best Supporting Actress.

Sunday night's Academy Awards marks the last major awards show of the season for Woodley and her "Descendants" castmates. On the red carpet before the Spirit Awards, the young actress told MTV News that ending her time with her co-stars is "so bittersweet."

"Tomorrow's the grand finale. It's awesome, because I'll be able to have clean socks and do laundry for the first time in a few months, but it is sad because every single night has been this beautiful little reunion of people, and tomorrow's the last reunion," she explained.

At least the reunions will go out with a bang, since the entire cast, including Clooney, is expected to attend the Oscars. Even though they won't continue to see each other on the awards circuit this year, Woodley expects she and her castmates will stay in touch.

If Clooney falls out of contact, Woodley promised, "I will track him down and say, 'Keep teaching me, because I haven't learned enough yet!' "

The actress has made quite a splash on the red carpet while doing rounds for "The Descendants," and she said her Oscar-night dress is ready to go. Picking out the perfect outfit hasn't been something to stress about — as she said, that's what stylists are for.

"I do have a dress. It hasn't been that big of a process because I know nothing about fashion," Woodley said. "I have an awesome stylist who does know a lot about fashion, and so I'm sure she would say it's been a big process, but for me, it's been very simple."

Nick Jonas Talks 'Dynamite' Bromance With John Stamos

'He's everybody's Uncle Jesse,' singer/actor jokes to MTV News about 'Full House' alum.
By Jocelyn Vena

Nick Jonas
Photo: MTV News

Nick Jonas is currently playing Finch, the lead role in Broadway's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," following in the footsteps of an elite group of singers and actors, including Matthew Broderick, Ralph Macchio and, most recently, Darren Criss and Daniel Radcliffe.

But Jonas finds himself channeling a few other actors — one of whom he happens to be besties with — for his performance.

"I'm a big fan of Bobby Morse; he was the original, and he was in the movie. I love his work in the movie," he said, before joking, "I obviously didn't get to see him when he was Finch in the '60s. But I really loved his performance [in the movie], and John Stamos is a friend of mine and also played this role back in 1995."

In case you're wondering how Stamos and Jonas know each other, they both appeared in "Hairspray" at the Hollywood Bowl last year and have stayed in touch since.

"He came and saw the show and overall is a pretty hilarious guy," Jonas said. "So it's been fun, and I hope that I can meet Bobby Morse one day. Stamos actually sent me a picture of he and Bobby Morse to kind of rub it in my face, so I'm a bit jealous.

"[Me and] Stamos? It's like dynamite," Jonas continued of their bromance. "We watch a lot of YouTube videos. We talk about music quite a bit. He's a big music fan. He's a really good dude. He's been really kind through the whole process, because he played the role. He knows what it takes to do it. [It's a] cool older-brother type vibe in that sense. He's everybody's Uncle Jesse."

J.K. Rowling Signs Deal For First Post-'Potter' Book

Author says her upcoming adult novel is 'very different to the 'Harry Potter' series.'
By John Mitchell

J.K. Rowling
Photo: Daniel Barry/Getty Images

It's been five long years since J.K. Rowling published her seventh and final "Harry Potter" novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," and it seems the author is finally ready to move away from the beloved young wizard and into the world of adult novels. Publishers Little, Brown announced on Thursday that they'd reached an agreement with Rowling to publish her first book for grownups. The publisher did not reveal any details of the book or even when eager readers could expect its release, though in a statement through the publishing house, Rowling did seem to indicate that she had finished writing the novel.

"Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the 'Harry Potter' series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world," she said. "The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life."

At the U.K. premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," Rowling told MTV News that she had been writing actively since finishing the final "Potter" book, but that she wanted the film franchise to wrap before she released anything. "I'm writing, and I've done quite a lot since finishing 'Harry,' " she said. "I also felt I wanted the last film out of the way before I made any moves on the publishing front. 'Harry' is so huge and I suppose my involvement with the world has still been quite intense. This feels like a new beginning to me."

The "Potter" series is the best-selling book series in history, with more than 450 million copies in print, and inspired the most successful film franchise ever, grossing more than $7.7 billion worldwide. Rowling's "Potter" books were published in the U.S. by Scholastic, which does not publish novels for adult audiences. Little, Brown will be publishing Rowling's new novel in both the U.S. and the U.K.

Authors who have found great success in the young-adult genre have had mixed results writing for adults. "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer found success with her adult bestseller "The Host," but she is an exception to the rule, according to the Wall Street Journal. Though the paper notes that Rowling would enter the adult genre with one distinct advantage over authors like "Lemony Snicket" scribe Daniel Handler and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" writer Ann Brashares: Her books, like those of Meyer and "Hunger Games" author Suzanne Collins, achieve a large following among adults, who would in turn be more likely to trust her skills as an author regardless of genre.

"J.K. Rowling is simply a great writer, and no matter what she applies her talents to, we will anticipate and enjoy it," Melissa Anelli, administrator of top "Potter" fansite The Leaky Cauldron, wrote in an email to the Journal. "I'm also so intrigued by this process:

What will happen as the world's greatest children's/YA author navigates the new publishing landscape and publishes for a new audience?"

What indeed.

Are you excited for J.K. Rowling's first book for grownup audiences? Let us know in the comments below.

'Mirror Mirror' Star Lily Collins Leads An Enchanted Tour

Snow White herself shows off fantastical forest, crumbling village and dwarves' cottage during MTV News' set visit.
By John Mitchell, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

When "Mirror Mirror" hits theaters March 30, moviegoers will be transported to an enchanted land of snowy forests, old-timey villages and lavish castles for a classic retelling of the Snow White fairy tale. But why wait that long when you can get a sneak peek behind the scenes right now?

MTV News' own Josh Horowitz was lucky enough to visit the "Mirror Mirror" set and received a guided tour from Snow White herself, Lily Collins.

"This is where I live," Collins declared while welcoming MTV News to the snowy forest set of the film. She was quick to caution that, unlike real snow, the white stuff piled throughout the woods wasn't exactly appetizing. "It's salt," she warned.

"This is the forest as you can see, obviously. The dwarves' tree house is somewhere in these woods. The majority of the action takes place here," Collins explained. "And I'm in big ball gowns running around in this wood. I'm fighting with Armie [Hammer]."

From the forest, Collins took MTV News to another soundstage, where a dilapidated village was constructed. The place was in disrepair — and, of course, it was all Julia Roberts' fault. "It has seen better days, yes," Collins told MTV News. "The story is that the queen [Roberts] has spent all the money, and so the village is poor."

Next, the 22-year-old "Abduction" actress introduced Josh to the dwarves' cottage, which features several small beds and a shorter-than-usual kitchen table.

"This is the classic, iconic dwarves' house, as you can tell by the little things around. So much goes on in this house," the actress said. "Everything from the iconic waking up scene with the dwarves and I [to] Armie — imagine Armie, how tall he is, he is in here quite a bit."

The lovely actress even invited Josh to stay in the cottage. "Don't you want to stay? Take a little bed up there?" she asked. Alas, none of the beds built for the seven dwarves would be a good fit and Collins knows it, having given them a go herself. "I tried fitting in one of those too; they're really small," she admitted.

Check out everything we've got on "Mirror Mirror."

On Tuesday (February 21), some of the biggest names in the music business headed to London's O2 Arena for the 2012 Brit Awards, where Adele, Rihanna and Bruno Mars were among the stars who took home prizes.

Grammy winner Adele added to her award collection by nabbing two Brits, including British Female Solo Artist and the night's big prize, Mastercard British Album of the Year, for 21. And on Wednesday, the U.K. singer will celebrate the one-year anniversary of her chart-topping 21.

"It's been an amazing year," she told the room as she accepted the Female Solo Artist prize. She then joked to presenter Kylie Minogue, "I feel like a drag queen next to you," before thanking her record label for "for letting me be the kind of artist I want to be."

There were also live performances from Florence and the Machine, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and, of course, Adele, who sang "Rolling in the Deep" just a little over a week since her Grammy performance.

Meanwhile, just as One Direction seems poised for a U.S. takeover the U.K. boy band nabbed a British Single award for their track "What Makes You Beautiful," which was released in the States last week.

Rihanna and Bruno Mars won International Female Solo Artist and International Male Solo Artist, respectively. "[Thanks to] all my fans who continue to support me no matter what," said Rihanna, who made headlines on Tuesday (February 21) by adding Chris Brown to her "Birthday Cake" remix.

Coldplay took home the British Group prize for the third time. On the other end of the spectrum, Grammy winners the Foo Fighters beat out folks like Jay-Z and Kanye West (a.k.a. the Throne), Lady Antebellum and Maroon 5 to win International Group. Lana Del Rey won the International Breakthrough Act award, just weeks after she dropped her debut, Born to Die.

Other awards included Outstanding Contribution Award for Blur, a Critics Choice Award for Emeli Sande and British Male Solo Artist for singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, who also took British Breakthrough Act.

'Hunger Games' Is 'Very Emotional,' Elizabeth Banks Says

'We really are attached to everybody's journey, and so I'm really excited to see how that all plays out,' actress tells MTV News.

It's hard not to love Elizabeth Banks. She's smart, funny, pretty, makes great choices with her roles in film and television and just seems like an all-around great person. And although we've been fans of Banks' work for years, it's her role as Effie Trinkett in "The Hunger Games" that has us almost bouncing off the walls with excitement.

When MTV News caught up with Banks recently, we asked what scenes she's most looking forward to see on the big screen when the film opens March 23.

"I have not seen much of the arena, so I'm excited to see the actual Games. It's very emotional. We really become very attached to the characters, even Cato and Thresh, kind of the bad guys of the book," Banks said. "We really are attached to everybody's journey, and so I'm really excited to see how that all plays out."

Banks said that, for her part, the Reaping was the most challenging and fulfilling sequence to shoot.

"The Reaping is amazing. We get so see a heroine step forward and show herself for the first time and come to life, and it was a really remarkable scene to shoot. It was difficult to shoot under insane conditions, about 105 degrees the couple days we shot it. We had all these young kids there dropping like flies," Banks recalled. "It was madness, and it's also the only time we spend in District 12."

Banks added that the best way to take the edge off the extreme temperatures and conditions during the filming of the Reaping was to lighten the mood between takes.

"I think whenever it's difficult, one of my favorite ways to deal with it is to joke around. We take the work seriously, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Woody [Harrelson] is a great partner in crime," she said of her humorous co-star. "He tells really off-color jokes and is fantastically self-deprecating and fun to be around."

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Whitney Houston dies at 48

Whitney Houston

It?s no secret she?s had a rough go of it in recent years, and Whitney Houston has died of undisclosed causes, says her publicist Kristen Foster. With her fans and friends understandably devastated by the news, details available thus far tell that the "I Will Always Love You" singer was found unresponsive in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday (February 11). With paramedica arriving within minutes, Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55PM with a full investigation already underway - though there are said to be no signs of foul play. According to TMZ, a search of the Beverly Hilton Hotel room in which the 48-year-old was staying found no illegal drugs, though prescription medications were located. TMZ adds that there's a chance Miss Houston died from drowning in the bathtub, but since her body was removed from the water before EMTs arrived the conclusive determination must await an autopsy. Below are pictures from the scene at the Beverly Hilton Hotel after Whitney Houston's passing (February 11). [gallery=817]
